About Us

The Appalachian AWARxE project was designed for pharmacy professionals and other healthcare providers to prepare them to respond to the prescription drug abuse crisis through prevention, education, and assistance efforts. The project is being funded through a grant through the Appalachian Regional Commission.

Our Mission

Appalachian AWARxE promotes prescription drug abuse education, assistance, and prevention efforts in Appalachia. By increasing awareness and knowledge of prescription drug abuse issues, we increase the likelihood that health care providers will be actively involved in reducing the impact of prescription drug abuse on society and our professions.
