ACP Students Participate in Substance Abuse Screening at Remote Area Medical Clinic

Pharmacy students Trang Nguyen and Christa Kendrick screen patients for substance abuse during the Remote Area Medical Clinic in Wise, VA.
Students from the Appalachian College of Pharmacy participating in the AWARxE program performed substance abuse screening at the Remote Area Medical Clinic (RAM), held in Wise, VA July 22-25. Students met with patients who were waiting for prescriptions to be filled and performed screening for alcohol, nicotine, and prescription drug abuse. Students screened and educated over 200 patients during the event.
